This is an inexpensive polystyrene foam pinning board, well suited for students or anyone on a tight budget. It is especially useful for field pinning because it can hold many specimens yet weighs under 4 ounces. It is ideal for allowing butterfly wings to spread and dry. It has five slots through the board, measuring from 1/8″ (.32cm) to 5/8″ (1.6cm) accommodating most specimen sizes on a single board. The slot is at a 90 degree angle to the board (There is no slant). The 1-3/4″-thick (4.4cm) foam block allows for perfect positioning of specimens using any pin length.
