- Odie's Dark Oil (ODO) is a remarkable rich dark finishing oil, containing natural reactive and oxidizing oils that darken the wood. Food safe, solvent free and non toxic, containing no added driers, heavy metals or part 2 catalyst.
- WHAT IT DOES- Odie’s Dark Oil richens and darkens wood, not only when applied but with age, exposure & in reaction with the natural tannins in wood. ODO protects, stabilizes, beautifies & enhances any wood surface easily, safely and naturally. ODO penetrates, cross links and bonds molecularly, becoming one with the surface. It does not sit on top as a shell or film like many conventional finishes. It cures fast and hard while also remaining flexible. This means it will never peel, flake, chip, delaminate, wrinkle or leave unsightly white scratch marks or cracks!
- The dark depth and rich patina are such that results cannot be duplicated with a stain. Odie's Dark line of finishes create incredible contrast, blacks pop! Odie’s Dark contains natural UV inhibitors, helping to protect from the sun's harmful radiation. Odie’s Dark Oil will actually get better with age, becoming more durable and beautiful.

Great for all species of wood, exotic and domestic. Formulated to work on even the oiliest of woods. Great for white oak, walnut, cherry, mahogany, ebony, wenge and more! Odie's Dark Oil is great for wood turners and can be used as a friction polish!

Our Tung Oil has been put through proprietary processes which has then been mixed in a special blend of the finest essential oils and waxes. The dark depth and rich patina of Odie’s Dark line of finishes are such that results cannot be duplicated with a stain.

- All Odie’s finishes each have a unique, pleasant earthy, floral scent that do not have or leave a strong odor behind. They smell like a day at the spa and the smell quickly dissipates as it cures. Odie’s finishes are completely food safe, non toxic & and safe for everyone to use & live with, including the children and pets! Odie’s finishes are easy to apply using basic tools such as a non woven pad for application and a terry cotton towel for removing & buffing off the excess. Odie’s finishes dry fast and can be handled almost immediately, we recommend 3-5 days cure time before being subjected to standing liquids.
- Odie’s finishes do not require any special maintenance & finished surfaces are easy to clean using 10 parts vinegar to 1 part water, soap & water or by using Odie’s Cleaning Concentrate. A 1-2% concentration of Odie’s Cleaner in water is typically all that is needed. Odie’s finishes produce a beautiful, protective & very durable finish that is resistant to water, liquids & stains. It provides excellent resistance to heat and scratches & has natural UV inhibitors.
- The sheen & gloss of the finish is primarily dictated by the surface preparation. The higher you sand the higher the initial dictation of sheen. There are no sanding restrictions with Odie’s finishes! You can also build upon the sheen, depth & lustre with additional applications & by using the various finishes in conjunction to suit your desired effects.
