With the Tormek SVX-150 Scissors Jig and your Tormek Sharpening System (sold separately), you can give your scissors and shears the perfect edge to make cutting easy. The scissors jig securely holds your tool in place and smoothly guides the blade across your Tormek grind stone following the shape of the scissors giving them a true and sharp edge. There are two clamps to accomodate almost any size scissors/shears. Use only the right clamp for smaller sized scissors, and both clamps for larger shears. Note, some scissors may have to be disassembled in order to use this jig due to the shape of their handles or the angle of their blade. As a bonus, the SVX-150 can also sharpen many portable electric hand planer blades. This versatile jig is a perfect addition to your Tormek Sharpening System and your workshop. Stay sharp! From the Manufacturer Tormek SVX-150 Scissors Jig sharpens scissors and shears. The scissors is mounted in a holder, which supports freely on a support plate so you can follow the individual convex shape of the scissors. It is also used for portable electric hand planer blades. The jig for scissors sharpening is comprised of a support plate and a holder with two clamps for the scissors. Usually you use only the right clamp, however, for large scissors and garden shears you use both clamps. You adjust the clamp to fit the scissors’ thickness with the screw, and lock the scissors by tightening the knob. The support plate has a sliding surface, so the holder with the scissors can easily be moved while it is pressed onto the plate.
