- Often called tropical cactus or lemon vine, this plant is a true member of the cacti family (Leuenbergeria) but with a leafy, non-succulent appearance. The variegated cultivar Godseffiana is a unique version of the larger, sprawling species.
- The leaves of Godseffiana undergo a stunning color transformation, from deep burgundy to peach, golden yellow, and finally a soft olive green. The specific colors will change depending on light, temperature, and humidity. It is much smaller and less aggressive than the species plant. Mature plants produce pale yellow flowers in the spring, followed by a small edible fruit.
- Care: This plant requires a blend of care for both tropical plants and succulents. It needs about 4 to 6 hours of full-spectrum light daily and coarse, superior-draining soil. It thrives in warm temperatures with a day/night differential and prefers high hum
- Indoor Growing: When growing indoors, choose a large pot and place it in a location with bright, indirect light, like a south-facing window. Be mindful of its mature size and the thorns, as they can be a handling risk. Misting the leaves can help provide the humidity it needs.
