Like Blood Meal, this product is one of the highest sources of non-synthetic nitrogen available. However, there is one major difference. The nitrogen in this amendment comes from the protein keratin, which has a very tightly knitted cell structure. Because of this, keratin is harder for soil microbes to break down, thus making it an excellent source of slow release nitrogen.
